Is Magellan eXplorist 600 a feather weight GPS handheld with a blurry screen?
The first thing we felt in our hike with Magellan eXplorist 600
–yeah that’s what we said, felt– was the eXplorist’s tough exterior casing-this baby is for real- tough, durable rubber protected with impact resistant plastic, hell, we even dropped it and banged it around a bit (we don’t recommend doing this ) and Magellan explorist 600 was still up to par– like an old Timex watch–it took a licken’ and kept on tickin’. It even felt pretty decent in my hand at only 2.1 x 4.6 x 1.3, under 4 ounces, not bad at all!
Whoever said light weights can’t be tough was dead wrong. We got a wopping 14 hours out of it’s rechargeable lithium-ion battery and even took it for a swim with no problems cause it’s a waterproof GPS unit watertight & sealed to “IPX-7 specifications”.
Does Magellan eXplorist 600
really deliver PC-like management or mismanagement??
The answer is that Magellan eXplorist 600 GPS is one of the first GPS handhelds capable of delivering PC-like file management. Yup, that’s what I said. A miniture PC it’s not but we were able to create some directories, files and folders.
And we got to give credit where it’s due:
The Magellan GPS map screen was pretty clear and easy to use as was the navigation keypad and joystick control was super smooth. With the 8 MB built-in mapping, unlimited flash-memory expansion & unlimited secure digital (SD) card storage the Magellan eXplorist 600 is designed for both use in the big city and out in the country.
Hassle FREE:
Your geo-cache treasures are not unreachable —no need to go online, grab coordinates, jot them down and then enter them into the GPS handheld.
Magellan geocaching manager software allows you to just easily load the data you need directly to Magellan eXplorist like magic so you can pack-up your gear and be on your way.
When it comes to GPS handheld devices designed for ‘geo-caching’ the 16-color display Magellan eXplorist 600 receiver is second to none. We didn’t want to miss the opportunity to share with you one of the best and most dependable GPS systems around for the outdoorsman.
Great Magellan eXplorist 600
spotted online.

Save 44% Off - Online special offer spotted on line for Garmin Quest GPS
Two definitions for the word ‘Quest’:
#1 Quest is "the act or an instance of
seeking or pursuing something; a search."
#2 Quest is also "an expedition undertaken in medieval romance by a knight in
order to perform a prescribed feat: the quest for the Holy Grail."
I’d like to add my own definition for ‘Quest’:
#3 Garmin Quest GPS
is a modern day pocket-sized compass, a highly sophisticated navigational electronic instrument with 115 MB of internal memory that snaps easily into place on your vehicles dashboard (and also fits comfortably in your pocket too!) Garmin Quest GPS
helps get you where you need to be when you need to be whether you are driving in your car or traveling by foot.

The Garmin Quest GPS
removes the ’search’ and ‘pursuit’ elements from your journey. Garmin Quest GPS
features an ultra clear, bright 256-color, high-resolution TFT display that is very easy to read even if you are travelling during the a day with very bright sunshine.
To get the best reception from your Garmin Quest GPS
, you have a flip-up antenna that works fine as log as you position it parallel with the road.
I like Garmin Quest GPS
unit’s neat, easy to use ‘Find Menu’ cause it lets us select where we want to get to. Once we choose our location target, the rest is a synch with Garmin Quest GPS
automatic routing that features turn by turn instructions and voice guidance. Garmin Quest GPS
also has automatic off-route and detour recalculations, which are great cause if we lose our way by trying our own “short cut” (ie: wrong turn!) the ‘Quest‘ will quickly correct us and get us back on track, in enough time to arrive to our destination.
Don’t underestimate Garmin Quest GPS and garmin Quest 2
just cause it’s as small as a TV remote. Because it’s a Garmin GPS unit, equipped with a USB data connection, you have at your finger tips — fast map downloads from Garmin’s entire line of MapSource CDs.
The Quest includes a fully unlocked MapSource City Select CD which gives maps of all the US with five million points of interest!

So even if we’re not actually on the quest for the ‘Holy Grail’; when we we lose our way; making wrong turns — we still feel like we are on our version of a quest for the ‘Holy Grail’.
With Garmin Quest GPS
traveling becomes fun. Garmin Quest GPS
really is a modern day version of the pocket-compass. It’s durable enough to last in our families for generations to come as a family treasure you’ll want to hand down to your kids and grandchildren one day– just like our grandpa’s pocket-watch we adore.
