Garmin puts it all in the palm of your hand with the Garmin eTrex Legend GPS Navigation Unit. Light weight at 5.3 ounces, the Garmin eTrex Legend GPS Navigation Unit is comfortable, light and compact. There are those of course who will find fault with it because of it’s black and white screen (288×160 pixels-ain’t bad at all!) and slightly complicated inter-face, though if you want accurate GPS coordinates and readings (includes ‘WAAS’ - Wide Area Augmentation System support) at a low price - Garmin eTrex Legend GPS Navigation Unit is a fine hand-held for hiking, backpacking, and geocaching.

Being waterproof and designed with a comfortable and durable-tough rubber grip cover is a big plus when backpacking through mountains and streams. Though the Garmin eTrex Legend GPS Navigation Unitincludes 8 MB of memory which is pretty good for hiking you’ll still need to load MapSource Garmin software to get the most from this GPS unit.
